So, as a woman, unfortunately, sometimes nature does its own lil’ thing and turns even the most bad-ass chick into a snivelling, snotty mess who can’t handle the sudden influx of emotions and has to lie down for a bit just to get all the tears out.
And yes, that’s what’s happened to me over the last couple of days, and it’s getting ridiculous.
I won’t go into gory detail about every little thing that has made me burst into tears in the last 48 hours, but I will share one thing that made me cry with happiness, because it just shows how there are people in the world who just want to do good for everything ad everyone.
If you click the link you’ll see the story, but the gist of it is this:
Birds keep smacking themselves into windows and dying because they don’t realise they’re there (or see the reflection of a tree and think that’s where they need to fly) so, in order to try and prevent this from happening, Toronto has been making sure every new building since 2009 (!!!) is bird friendly, through a variety of measures, such as markings on the glass, or recessing windows into buildings.
Shit, here I go again, I’m welling up.
I mean, the fact that a whole city is taking measures against little birdies from hurting themselves is pretty amazing.
Things like this should happen more often in the world, and maybe we’ll have more people crying with joy than heartache and devastation.
p.s I promise I won’t write my next post until I am recovered and can handle the tears and sobbing.
